It's coming up for that most wonderful time of the year once again! Hopefully this year is looking a lot more like Christmas than last year. To help you get in the Christmas spirit here are some amazing things to do near to us at Nursery Days for you and your children. Rochester Christmas Market!
The Christmas market will once again return to the picturesque Rochester Castle Gardens where visitors will find unusual stocking fillers, unique and personalised gifts and, of course, mulled wine. There will be fun for all the family including live performances, a funfair and a Bavarian food village.
The market is set in the heart of historic Rochester where there are plenty of shops, restaurants and period architecture to explore.
The Christmas Market 2021 returns on:
Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 November from 10am to 6pm
Friday 3 December from 12pm (noon) until 8pm
Saturday 4 and Sunday 5 December from 10am until 7pm
Friday 10 December from 12pm (noon) until 8pm
Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 December from 10am to 6pm.
Wartime Christmas Weekend!
Visit the Royal Engineers Museum on 27 and 28 November to discover how Christmas was celebrated during the Second World War!
Immerse yourself in the festivities and get a vintage makeover, watch live demonstrations or browse the market for festive handicrafts & last minute treats. Meet re-enactors and learn about the role of animals and discover how ordinary people helped the war effort on the Home Front. You could even learn to Lindy Hop with the Maidstone Lindyhoppers! The Event will also featurethe Brompton & Invicta Military Wives Choir as they sing traditional carols. No visit is complete without a trip to see Sapper Santa’s Grotto & Workshop, where little ones can write letters, receive a special gift and create their own Christmas treasures!
Dickens Christmas Festival!
The popular Rochester Dickensian Christmas Festival returns this year at the Chatham Maritime Trust and takes place over the weekend of 3rd-5th December 2021. The Christmas markets will be in situ 27th-28th November, 4th-5th and 10th-12th December 2021. The Christmas lights switch-on takes place on 27th November at 3.45 pm.
Upchurch Village Santa's Sleigh Round!
Upchurch Parish Council and Sittingbourne Christmas Lights Association will be bringing Santa’s Sleigh Round to Upchurch again on Sunday 15th December, for what promises to be another great opportunity for children of all ages to join in the festive fun.
Santa's Round:
4:00pm - Four Gun Field / Littlefield Road Estates
4:40pm - Crosier Court
5:20pm - Drakes Close
Santa has to leave at 6:00pm.
All proceeds from this year’s collection will go towards Upchurch Village Hall.
