Welcome to the Rainbow Room
Rainbow room is for children aged 2 - 3 years, we can accomodate up to 20 children a day with 5 members of staff a 1:4 ratio.
Each child is allocated a Key person, as we strongly believe that a good strong relationship with a key person at home and in the setting is essential to young children's well-being. We feel that it is important that your child's day at nursery is enjoyable and that every individual need is met, having a key person ensures that all routines are followed and your child has someone they can depend upon during there time away from there parent/carers.
We support children's play through the Early Years Foundation Stage. The Framework takes as its focus the child and steers away from subjects, specific areas of experience and distinct curriculum headings. It identifies six areas of learning which celebrate the skill and competence of young children and highlights the interrelationships between growth, learning, development and the enviroment in which they are stimulated. We support your child's growth and development through a safe, secure, warm and homely enviroment. We have a variety of activities appropriate to their age, developmental stage, interests and individual needs.
Your child's key person monitors your child's development by observing and making notes. These observations help us identify any patterns of play and interests your child may have. We then use this information in our plans to ensure Rainbow Room is centered on the children. All of your child's observations and notes are kept in their own progress file which are confidential and are available to you at any time.
You will be given a daily diary which your key person will share all the information you require such as feeding times, sleeping times and generally how your child has been and what they have enjoyed doing. Parents/carers are invited to add comments.
