Welcome to the Snowflake Room

Snowflake Room is for children aged 0 - 2 years, we can accomodate up to 12 children a day with 4 members of staff, a ratio of 1:3.
Each child is allocated a keyperson, as we strongly believe that a good strong relationship with a key person at home and in the setting is essential to young childrens well-being. We feel that it is important that your child's day at nursery is enjoyable and that every individual need is met, having a key worker ensures that all routines are followed and your child has someone they can depend on during there time away from their parents or main carers.
We support childrens play through the 'Early Years Foundation Stage. The framework takes it's focus on the child and steers away from subjects, specific areas of experience and distinct curriculum headings. It identifies Six areas of learning, which celebrate the skill and competence of babies and young children and highlights the interrelationships between growth, learning, development and the enviroment in which they are cared for and stimulated. We support your baby/young child's growth through a safe, secure, warm and homely enviroment. We have a variety of activities appropriate to their age, development stage, interests and individual needs.
Your key person monitors your child's development by observing them and making notes. These observations help us identify any patterns of play and interests your child may have. We then use this information in our plans to ensure that Snowflake Room is centered on the children. All of your child's observations and notes are kept in their own progress file which are confidential and are available to you at any time.
We have a seperate sleeping area.
You will be given a daily diary which your key person will share all the information you require such as feeding times, sleeping times and generally how your child has been and what they enjoyed doing. Parents/carers are invited to add comments.
